Lily Madison Releases Soft Rock Anthem ‘This Is It’

“It means trying to become a risk taker after being scared of the unknown and the uncertain.”

That’s how Lily Madison sums up ‘This Is It’, her new single out now – 14th August 2026 – and it’s a fitting way in. The Kent singer-songwriter has built the track around a single, unresolved moment, the decision to finally say something true to someone and not knowing how it lands.

The single leans into 90s soft rock, The Sundays, The Cranberries and Fleetwood Mac all clear reference points, filtered through Madison’s own instinct for restraint. Guitars, bass, drums and a light touch of tambourine do the work, nothing overplayed, nothing rushed. She’s spoken about pulling apart The Sundays’ chord choices while writing this, trying to understand what gave that band’s sound its particular ache, and folding pieces of that into her own material.

There’s a duality baked into the title itself. “This is it” can mean things working out precisely as hoped, or it can mean an ending. Lily Madison doesn’t pick a side, and the song is stronger for it.

Coming out of a strong local gig circuit that’s clearly shaped her writing and her confidence, Lily Madison has more material on the way in the coming months, with an EP currently taking shape. ‘This Is It’ offers an early, honest look at where that’s heading.
