Fronted by Ty Morgan, TYBIRD have built their sound on the chemistry of a real live band, and it shows here. Gritty vocals sit atop driving riffs, building steadily toward a guitar solo that anchors the track’s emotional core. There’s an obvious debt to classic rock’s greats, but the delivery feels current, sitting comfortably alongside contemporaries like Rival Sons and Dirty Honey.
The song’s power comes from its backstory. Morgan wrote it during his senior year of high school, caught between the expectation to go to college and his determination to pursue music instead. That conflict gives the track its urgency, and it’s fitting that it became one of the first songs TYBIRD recorded together as a full band. Mixed by Brian Scheuble, whose credits span Mötley Crüe to Stevie Nicks, ‘Out of My Mind’ is polished without losing its edge.
