On their new single “Days Like These,” Leeds trio Leodis explore the quiet weight of what remains after loss. It’s a track that doesn’t rush toward resolution. Instead, it remains in the stillness between remembering and moving on.
The song first took shape in 2021, written in the aftermath of a long-term relationship. Back then, it carried the hallmarks of a breakup song: reflection, regret, and the ache of parting ways. But time has a way of reshaping emotion, and when Leodis returned to the track years later, they heard something entirely new.
“It was written as a breakup song,” lead singer Archie shares, “but after taking a few years out and coming back to it, we heard it differently. It wasn’t about heartbreak anymore. It was about loss and how the human mind processes the absence of someone you love, and learning to live without them.”
With its burnished guitars, weathered harmonies, and widescreen production, “Days Like These” captures that uneasy nostalgia – the way memory resurfaces in flashes and half-light. There’s a tenderness beneath its grit, the sound of a band reflecting rather than reacting.
Drawing on the storytelling warmth of country and the raw intimacy of British rock, Leodis craft a sound that feels both grounded and cinematic, grounded in its Yorkshire roots. “Days Like These” accepts that some feelings never truly leave us.
