Rhett Repko returns with new indie-rock single ‘Somewhat Famous’

Following on from the release of ‘Every Night’ in earlier in the year, Rhett Repko is back with the release of his latest single, ‘Somewhat Famous’. Returning to his vibrant, indie-tinged sound, the single crosses the floor between stadium sized alt-rock and experimental indie-pop. Offering a punchy, nostalgic roar, the single sees Repko take cues from the likes of The 1975 and Declan McKenna as he delivers a mighty sonic stomp.

Speaking about the new release, he explains, “I wanted a swampy kind of old-school blues sound – something that I imagine gangsters in the 1920s would listen to in a speakeasy bar – the kinda song that makes you feel cool as you listen to it. We recorded the song at Red Bull Studios in Santa Monica over two full days so we tried to use everything we could get our hands on. I got the legendary producer Mark Needham (Killers, Imagine Dragons) to do the final mix of the song and bring all of those elements to life and the edge of the speaker.  He always has a way of taking something that I think is already perfect and making it even better.”
