Cam Cole Paints with Sound on Ambitious New Album ‘Lost In Creation’

From busking on the streets of Camden to selling out shows around the world, Cam Cole has always built his career on doing things his own way. Now, everything he has picked up along the journey comes pouring into Lost In Creation, his most ambitious and expansive album yet, arriving 30th October via New Age Records UK.

Recorded at Dean Street Studios in London, mixed and produced by Markus Stretz and mastered at Abbey Road Studios by Sean Magee, Lost In Creation takes the raw, foot-stomping sound that first stopped crowds on Camden’s streets and pushes it somewhere bigger.

Cam’s guitar, unmistakable voice and Farmer Footdrums remain at the record’s core, but this time they become a foundation for experimentation. Psychedelic flourishes bleed into desert-blues grooves, folk melodies collide with walls of fuzz, and unexpected instrumentation and guest voices move between thunderous rock ‘n’ roll and haunting, wide-open soundscapes.

“This whole album has a different feel to my previous ones,” Cam explains. “We started experimenting and painting around it with different vibes and sounds, guest vocalists and odd instruments, and then the tracks really came alive. That’s where the album title Lost In Creation comes from, we really got lost in it in a good way.”

That sense of creative freedom runs through all ten tracks. Rather than simply capturing the power of one man making the noise of a full band, Lost In Creation finds Cam painting with sound, allowing years of touring, travelling and encounters with people, places and music around the world to feed into the record.

Recent singles have already revealed different sides of that evolution. ‘Rabbit (She’s What I Want)’ pairs USA-style slide guitar with swirling ’60s psychedelia, while ‘Ur So Beautiful’ transforms the rush of infatuation into something romantic, heavy and haunting.

On ‘Chasing Dreams’, Cam turns his attention outward before ultimately looking within. Driven by a four-on-the-floor rhythm, vintage guitar tones and blues grit, the track emerged from a period when he found himself consumed by the problems of the wider world.

That search for release provides a thread through Lost In Creation. For all its stylistic expansion, the album is ultimately about surrendering to creativity and allowing music to become somewhere to disappear when the outside world gets too loud.

“I guess if there is a main theme on Lost In Creation that connects all the tunes,” Cam says, “it’s about escaping into music and having a breather for a moment.”

It’s a philosophy forged through an extraordinary independent career. Beginning on London’s street corners, Cam has gone from viral busking performances to millions of streams and sold-out shows across Europe, North America and Australia. Along the way came a scene-stealing appearance in Emmy-winning series Ted Lasso, the Amazon Prime documentary American Mileage following his first US tour, and music placements including Rightmove’s 2025 UK campaign and EA’s UFC 6.

His live show has evolved with him. Once known simply as “probably the heaviest one-man band in the world”, Cam has expanded the spectacle into a full-blown rock ‘n’ roll circus, combining his solo firepower with theatrical staging and a rotating cast of musicians from his New Age Collective.

Lost In Creation captures that same evolution on record. The one-man-band ferocity remains, but the walls around it have disappeared, leaving Cam free to follow each song wherever it wants to go.

After years spent turning street corners into stages and taking his sound around the world, Lost In Creation finds Cam Cole doing exactly what its title promises: disappearing into the music and emerging with his biggest creative statement yet.
