Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter and producer Atticus Kane returns with his most collaborative and expansive work to date, News From Delphi, a twelve-track collection of alternative folk-pop and reflective singer-songwriter storytelling that explores personal relationships, contemporary anxieties, and the search for meaning in an increasingly uncertain world.
Born and raised in Budapest, Hungary, before relocating to the United States as a teenager, Kane’s musical journey has been shaped by a life lived across cultures and continents. Kane spent years immersed in music production, studio work, and sonic branding. It was during the isolation of the pandemic that he reconnected with his own songwriting, leading to a growing catalogue.
With News From Delphi, Kane steps into new creative territory. While his previous releases were largely solitary affairs, featuring him performing and producing nearly every element himself, the new album sees him partnering with acclaimed musicians and producers Lucas Murray and Simon Thomas George, creating a richer and more expansive sonic landscape.
“Because I was collaborating with Simon and Lucas, the process for this album was quite different from my previous ones, where I worked on them solo,” says Kane. “I sent them about 20 songs, some new and some older, and together we narrowed them down to the 12 that made it on the album. They immediately understood the vision and helped refine the production in ways I couldn’t have achieved alone.”
The result is a deeply atmospheric collection that blends folk, alternative rock, and thoughtful pop songwriting with cinematic textures and understated emotional weight. Drawing inspiration from records Kane loved as a child growing up in Hungary, the album prominently features pedal steel guitar, though not in its traditional country context.
“The use of the pedal steel in particular was important to me. It’s such a beautiful and versatile instrument, and I wanted to feature it in a unique way that feels different from how most people associate it with country music.”
At the heart of the album sits the focus track “Morning Blue,” an ethereal and contemplative piece that perfectly encapsulates the record’s emotional core. Layered with shimmering instrumentation and gentle melodic flourishes, the song captures the quiet moments of reflection that often arrive between certainty and change. Pensive yet hopeful, “Morning Blue” showcases Kane’s ability to transform personal experiences into universally resonant storytelling.
Across tracks such as “Burned By You,” “Love Me Not,” “Take You Off My Mind,” and “Help Me Grow,” News From Delphi navigates themes of love, loss, self-discovery, and personal growth, while songs like “Electric Collisions” and “Ode To Minerva” widen the lens to consider contemporary life and humanity’s place within it.
The album’s title, News From Delphi, evokes both prophecy and reflection, serving as a fitting metaphor for a collection of songs that examine the signals we receive from the world around us and the stories we tell ourselves in response.
Combining intimate songwriting with lush, carefully crafted production, News From Delphi marks a significant artistic evolution for Atticus Kane. It is an album that invites listeners to slow down, reflect, and find beauty in uncertainty.
“It’s been a great joy to share these songs and see others connecting with them,” says Kane. “That’s ultimately what music is about for me.”
With News From Delphi, Atticus Kane delivers his most compelling statement yet, a thoughtful, emotionally rich album that bridges personal experience and collective reflection with grace, warmth, and timeless songwriting.
