Iris has said the track is about “friendships and special people that show up unexpectedly in your life when the time is right and you need them the most.”
Creative reference points sit alongside Olivia Rodrigo, Paramore, Avril Lavigne, and Busted – youthful energy pinned to real songwriting instinct. The track began life after an open mic set, when a local musician wrote a song with Iris that was later reshaped around her voice and personality, built out with sampled drums and live guitars, and recorded at a local studio.
