Kendow is exploring his interest in women’s football through new single “Lionesses Of England”, an upbeat track dedicated to the national team.
Inspired by the commitment shown by the Lionesses, the Slough-based songwriter set out to create a song that reflects the positive atmosphere surrounding the side and the wider growth of the women’s game.
The single leans into accessible dance-pop, with keyboards and programmed drums supported by guitar and vocals.
Its release also offers an introduction to Kendow’s independent approach to music. He writes and develops songs alongside his regular working life, using the process as both a creative pursuit and a way to unwind.
The football theme will continue beyond this release. Kendow is currently planning “England Women Come Together”, another track inspired by the sport.
For now, “Lionesses Of England” serves as a direct celebration of the players, supporters and enthusiasm that continue to drive women’s football forward.
