Tom McQ is moving beyond the stripped-back sound of his busking performances with “Lonely Revolution”.
The London musician has built his career around acoustic songwriting, live performance and direct audience connection, but the latest record introduces a wider instrumental palette. Full-band arrangements, orchestral strings and electric textures bring additional depth to material that still begins with McQ’s guitar and lyrics.
His rise has included performances at Glastonbury, regular appearances across London and a viral Underground video that reached more than 11.5 million views.
McQ’s growing catalogue now contains over 200 original songs, while forthcoming material is also expected to include contributions from Paul Weller keyboardist Tom Van Heel.
Despite the larger production, Lonely Revolution remains closely tied to the approach that first established McQ: songs written simply, performed frequently and shaped through direct contact with audiences.
