Colm Warren doesn’t do half measures. The former frontman of Belfast alt-punks The Twenty has built a solo career on raw honesty and orchestral power, his voice praised as “extraordinary” (Fiachna Ó Braonáin, RTÉ) and “powerful” (Ralph McLean, BBC).
His new single Estranged takes on the Guns N’ Roses classic, a song that meant everything to him as a teenager. Rather than copy, Warren makes it his own—folding in brass, strings, and even a riff from his earlier track Choked. The result is huge but human, a respectful tribute with his unmistakable stamp.
It’s brave, heartfelt, and straight from the gut. Estranged is out now on all platforms.
