Artist to Watch – Dream Robbery Release ‘The Game’

What happens when a decade of unspoken musical chemistry finally gets a name?
For Dream Robbery, the answer is ‘The Game’, the Yeovil, Somerset trio’s new single, out now, and the latest chapter in a five-single collection that has quietly turned heads across the alt-indie scene

The band’s frontman wrote the track in a single sitting, a glass of whiskey beside him, Spiritualized’s Ladies and Gentlemen We Are Floating in Space on the record player, and only an acoustic guitar, fountain pen and paper for company. His day job as a frontline 999 ambulance worker feeds directly into the song’s emotional core, a meditation on the permanence of love set against the temporary nature of life, drifting between freedom, memory and loss. Taken to the rest of the band, ‘The Game’ was recorded true to the sound of their instruments and vocals, with no extra trimming or double tracking allowed to soften its edges.

Though Dream Robbery only officially formed in 2022, the trio have known each other and made music together since their college years, a history that shows in how naturally the band moves together. Recorded at Mill Farm Studios and mastered by Grammy Award-winning engineer Shawn Joseph, ‘The Game’ sits alongside four other singles built from that same well of trust and shared experience.

The acclaim has already started rolling in. A&R Factory’s Amelia Vandergast called Dream Robbery about to steal the scene, Jam in the Van singled out the band’s big sound and songwriting, and a Spanish rock culture magazine pointed to the huge guitar tones and raw vocal energy running through the collection. With festival appearances at Godney Gathering already under their belt and a run of shows in South Korea coming this October, Dream Robbery are a band worth keeping close watch on.
