LA multidisciplinary artist vincethealien is preparing to move into a new release phase with “Elongated Time”, the final single before his forthcoming EP.
The song draws together several recurring themes in his recent work, including heartbreak, memory and the long-term effects of emotional loss.
Created with collaborator MOTTRON, “Elongated Time” began with personal writing before being shaped around a dark, repetitive instrumental. The resulting track blends programmed electronics with keys, strings and synth layers.
Its subject centres on the way past experiences can remain mentally active long after the events themselves have ended, and on accepting that carrying those memories does not necessarily mean progress has stopped.
Following 2025 release ALL I WANTED WAS TO BE YOUR LOVER, the new project continues vincethealien’s exploration of recovery while broadening a sound already influenced by R&B, rock, trip-hop and industrial pop.
