MALIK. brings bass, jungle and hardgroove together on new EP

Lahore-based DJ and producer MALIK. has released ‘IRIDESCENCE’, a new six-track collection built primarily for club spaces.

The EP brings together several strands of electronic music, including bass, drum & bass, jungle, UK garage, dubstep and hardgroove. Rather than separating those styles into distinct tracks or categories, MALIK. uses them as part of a wider approach centred on rhythm, texture and experimentation.

The project also develops a visual concept around colour, with MALIK. exploring how different sonic textures can suggest shifts in shade and perception.

His involvement in Pakistan’s independent scene includes co-founding the Miracle Mangal collective in 2020, while his DJ career has taken him from Lahore and Karachi to performances elsewhere in South Asia.

International outlets including BBC Asian Radio, Rinse FM, Foundation.FM and Boiler Room have also featured his work.

Released alongside Silent Roar, IRIDESCENCE places experimental Pakistani club music firmly at the centre of MALIK.’s latest chapter.
