Mali Mae prepares five-track EP with new single ‘Making Me Cry’

Mali Mae has shared “Making Me Cry”, the first major introduction to her forthcoming EP YOU’RE JUST MAKING ME CRY.

The five-track project is centred on personal experiences and the idea of songwriting as a way to understand emotions that can otherwise remain difficult to express.

That approach is clear on the new single, which deals with anxiety around family expectations and the possibility of never feeling good enough.

Mali supports the subject with a gradually expanding alternative-pop arrangement built from piano, bass and guitar, while keeping her voice central throughout.

The London artist brings a substantial musical background to the project. Alongside being a multi-instrumentalist, she trained as a classical violinist and studied at the Royal Northern College of Music.
