Samuel Evanson Charts A Journey in Love with New Album The Anatomy of Attraction

Liverpool-based singer and songwriter Samuel Evanson announces the release of his forthcoming album, The Anatomy of Attraction, out today.

The Anatomy of Attraction is a deeply personal body of work that traces the emotional landscape of his life over the past two years. Leading with his distinct vocals, Samuel moves deliberately and unabashedly from sadness and disorientation to clarity, softness, and joy.

Samuel’s vocals are one that you would recognise anywhere. Balancing vulnerability with restraint, Samuel has been building a reputation for emotional honesty and artistic clarity. With The Anatomy of Attraction, Samuel pushes the bounds of his artistry one step further – resisting categorisation and genre, paving the way for nuance, feeling, and breathing space between the lines. On The Anatomy of Attraction, that refusal to fit nearly into a box becomes the album’s emotional and creative backbone.

Structured chronologically, the record unfolds like a diary. Each track documents a distinct moment in time, each song carrying the listener forth through heartbreak, intensity, reflection, and ultimately, release. The shift is tangible: the record opens on explosive reckoning “Casino”, where Samuel sits at the end of a relationship, lamenting on going back to the beginning. Charting acceptance with “He Gave Me Nothing”, motion with “Run”, and new beginnings on “I Think I’m Ready” – the record opens up to reveal a softer side of Samuel, one that begins to let the light in.

On the record, Samuel shares, The Anatomy of Attraction is a reflection of my life – full of wild experiences and the trauma that comes with them. Creating the album has been an incredible journey, almost like therapy for me.” He continues, “The album is based around my life over the past few years, and the tracks are in chronological order leading from 2 years ago until now. You can feel the change in feeling as the tracks go on.”

In tandem with the record, Samuel will be headlining Heebie Jeebies in Liverpool, on March 13th. (TICKETS)

At its core, The Anatomy of Attraction is a meditation on experience: the thrill of living intensely, the trauma that follows, and the irrevocable resolution of understanding yourself through it all. Writing the album became a form of therapy – a way of processing moments that felt too big to carry alone.
