Shelana Azora & Richandell Share “Can’t Trust”

East London-born singer-songwriter Shelana Azora and Dutch artist, producer and creative entrepreneur Richandell join forces on their new collaborative single, “Can’t Trust”; a bold R&B and hip-hop record built on shared instinct, raw storytelling and transnational creative chemistry.

Blending Shelana’s soulful, emotionally direct vocal delivery with Richandell’s layered, rhythm-forward production, “Can’t Trust” turns the aftermath of betrayal into something sharper and more self-assured. The track moves between vulnerability and defiance, capturing the moment clarity replaces confusion, when trust is gone, but self-respect remains.

Produced entirely by Richandell, who also handles songwriting, recording, mixing and mastering, the track reflects a fully hands-on creative process shaped with precision at every stage. His production fuses R&B, hip-hop and global rhythmic influences into a clean but emotionally charged framework that leaves space for the vocal narrative to cut through.

For Shelana Azora, the record marks a continuation of her evolution into a more direct, boundary-led artistic chapter. Known for moving between singing and rap, she delivers a performance that carries both control and release — shaped by years in London’s live scene, earlier releases such as Epiphany, and a period of personal reset that reshaped her artistic direction.

Richandell brings a parallel depth of experience from both sides of music-making — as an artist and as a behind-the-scenes architect. A Dutch-Caribbean producer, songwriter and educator, he has built a reputation through work spanning Sony Music, Top Notch, Wisseloord Studios, and his own Rotterdam-based creative hub Sound Co-Lab Studios, alongside community-driven work through From Scratch, which has reached over 5,000 young creatives.

The collaboration between the two artists began in the Netherlands, sparked by an immediate studio connection during an early session in Amsterdam. That initial moment of instinctive chemistry later evolved into a long-term creative dialogue, culminating in “Can’t Trust”, recorded at the legendary Wisseloord Studios, where artists including Michael Jackson, U2, Elton John and The Police have all recorded.

“Can’t Trust” sits in the space between emotional reflection and forward momentum. It doesn’t linger in the breakup, instead it moves through it, translating disappointment into clarity, and clarity into sound.
